3-Layer Face Covering

Since the Delta variant hit, and especially since Omicron, our 3 Layer Silk Face Covering has been a top seller. It is constructed of 2 Layers of Cotton + 1 Layer of Silk Organza. Silk is an excellent filter material, yet remains breathable and easy to wear. It is also much more comfortable than many of the synthetic filter fabrics we tried.

Silk has electrostatic properties, meaning it’s positively charged. When a face mask has an electrostatic layer, small particles stick to it due to the positive charge. Those particles consequently don’t go through the fabric. N95 and KN95 masks have an electrostatic layer, which is what makes them so efficient.

Silk not only has electrostatic properties and is breathable, it is naturally water repellent, and may be antimicrobial and antiviral as well. Because of these superior attributes, we chose silk for our third layer filter. See more about the filtration and other properties of silk here.
